Webs of Words
Whisper and Weave spin webs of wicked words to get the town’s attention, but when a magic mirror confronts them and reveals the chaos they have caused, the spiders realise that kindness, not mischief, has the power to make everyone feel seen.
Inspiration
Inspired by my own experiences and my work with children, Webs of Words explores the power of words: to hurt, to heal, and to connect. Through story and metaphor, it gently shows how wanting to be seen can shape behaviour, and how kindness can make all the difference.
Illustrations
Webs of Words is illustrated by Julie Spencer, a French-Australian illustrator based on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Her thoughtful, expressive style felt right for a story that explores real feelings through imagination, inviting readers to step into its world.
